Open to select advisory work — 2026
Product and AI leader obsessed with how a product actually feels to use — and with AI that earns its place in it.
I work at the point where user needs, engineering reality, and AI meet — building products people actually want to use, and that move the metrics the business cares about. Product and platform leadership grounded in research and behaviour, not assumption, with enough of a builder's instinct to still ship the odd thing myself.

About
One instinct, everywhere: understand the person using the thing.
My work sits where user experience, engineering reality and applied AI meet. The through-line is craft: understanding the problem properly, deciding what not to build, and shipping something people find genuinely easy — which is usually where the commercial result comes from too.
The work I'm proudest of is a platform taken back to its foundations and rebuilt around a much clearer view of the user and the business — a rebuild that became part of the company's acquisition story. That sits alongside thirteen years of UX and product leadership, running platform and engineering, and building AI into products where it earns its place rather than headlines.
Before all that I spent eleven years in the animal world — starting on a seasonal kiosk, working as a zookeeper, and ending up at board level — with a stint as a chef and a year-long solo cycle across Europe along the way. It's an odd route into product, but it's where the discipline came from: prep before service, plan for the thing going wrong, and take the decision when it's yours to take.
How I think about product
- Strategy is what you refuse to build.
- Watch behaviour, not opinions.
- How it feels is the product — and the business result follows.
- AI is a material, not a feature.
